Confused fork oil

What to change front fork oil on my G/S and am unsure on grade of oil and volume. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

Haynes says: at oil change, 220cc, at rebuild 220-230cc.

As for grade, this is a personal choice; Haynes list many. 5W seems to be the 'go to' but there will be many opinions. 10W for competition riding. Owner's manual states Shell 4001, Shell Aero Fluid 4, Castrol DB Hydraulic Fluid, Castrol -318 Shock Absorber Oil, Aral P 3441 Shock Absorber Oil, Mobil Aero HFA, Mobil DTE 1, Esso Univis J 13. Good luck finding those (Owner's manual is 40 years old).

Not at all!

If you want 7.5 viscosity, just blend 5 and 10 in equal measures.

But best to use the same brand for both. Done it many times.
