Very simple question, for anybody but me.
Got a blinding deal on a Samsung F6740....
Now, where do i plug the cable in from the TV ? to the router ? What cable do i need ?

I have an old cable with two square plugs at each end. One end plugs into the socket on the TV, but needs to be a bit more rectangle to fit the socket on the router.

I've connected via WiFi ok, but would be better if a wired connection.

Keep the answers as simple as possible please :D and please feel free to make me feel like a tool.

Simple Ethernet cable, assuming they are in the same room.

Rj45 plug on each end 'a bit more rectangle' than the rj11 (phone lead) you are probably trying.

Fiver down maplins, maybe a bit more if you want a long one.

The plugs i need are different sizes each end of the cable ? the small square plug fits into the TV, but needs a more rectangly plug at the other end for the router. Does that make sense ?

Only need one 2 foot long.

And manual says LAN cable. Is that the same as an ethernet cable ?

Should be LAN on the TV and LAN / Ethernet on the router. Same plug for both ends. Often the sockets and plugs are coloured yellow or red or blue.....
