Connecting PCMCIA to USB

Please can anyone guide me to a widget that will allow me to connect a PCMCIA device via USB?

NOT a PCMCIA card that has USB ports - I need connectivity the "other way round"!

I've found an Elan card at £70 - is there anything cheaper (PCI? It's for a desktop).

If you have a spare PCI slot, then there's a few devices like http://www.addonics.com/products/host_controller/adpcicb2.asp that can provide cardbus/pcmcia slots. I did a quick google and can't find any USB to Cardbus adapters though.

I have never seen a pcmcia - usb adapter that will let you use the pcmcia device that you plug into it ... though I could be wrong...

I have a Linksys pci card that works with a few pcmcia wireless cards but I have never had much luck with anything else...

As I read it, that only supports PCMCIA memory cards and not devices.
