I've only ridden my LC a few miles but even with the seat on high setting (Standard seat) I think it might be too low for me.

My 2007 RT with standard seat set on high was about right - 840mm I think.

Highest setting in the LC with a standard seat is 825mm.

So - Thoughts please or is there someone out there that might consider a swap for a high seat?

Thanks
Rich

A wc gsa seat is higher than a normal wc gs one but they are a pain in the a@@e literally , one of the worst seats I have ever had on a bike, however , the BMW Exclusive seats made by Kahedo are a vast improvement

Rich,

I'm 6'5" and had the higher seat, I know it's a way from you, but Tony Archer in Huddersfield and for less than £100 he crafted my existing seat and it is much nicer and a bit taller.

No flashy web site, just good old fashioned craftsmanship

Not as yet Wobble, I'm persevering with the standard one for time being but keeping my eyes open in case a high one becomes available.
If it doesn't then I'll probably get Tony to sort mine before my big trip later in the year.
Cheers
Rich.

I do have a spare standard one you can borrow whilst yours is away if you do get a recover.
I'm keeping it so when I trade my RT in, I'll put the standard one back on.
If ever you come over to the wrong side of London, let me know, you can try the Tony Archer one.

That's very kind of you to offer, much appreciated.

I don't do massive miles in the UK, preferring to get abroad on the bike for the better roads and kinder weather so luckily I can do without the bike for a while if I send the seat off....unless Tony takes a month to do a recover.

It's not often I get to your neck of the woods but ironically I was born there!

Kettle's always on here in Worcestershire if you ever find yourself up here.

Thanks again
Rich

Is it your arse to foot peg distance is too small? If not, what preload setting are you using? I run mine in rider + luggage which is 20mm higher than single rider, and it handles better too.

Yep, it's arse to foot peg, height is OK otherwise.

Not sure why BMW had to mess with it, my 2007 RT was just right on the high setting.

I also have them fitted, the brake comes with a bracket you can lower the brake lever.

The gear change change is achieved by changing the long of the adjustable linkage (took me a few goes to get it absolutely right) but easy to do.

My biggest issue was getting the splined head bolt off from one of the pedals as it rounded off (make sure your tool is not worn!!)
