Constructing a web site

Hi.A question to you guys out there with your own web sites.

How do you do it ?

Does anyone have any advice on the best software / hosting packages/ web sites etc. I want to do it mainly for my own amusement, just to see how it's done...............Winters coming..........

Go buy a couple of magazines, .Net, WebBuilder etc. In them you will find all the tutorials and trial software titles you need. You can build a web site in Notepad (it's how I learnt) and upload it through your Windows OS to a free host. Or you can spend literally thousands on the latest and greatest and be no better off without extensive training and skill.

After time of playing and building you will get a grasp for what works best for you, what you need and not what I use now as it won't help without a context.

Plus, your ISP probably provides you with a certain amount of webspace free of charge. It would probably mean that your website URL would be something like: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/mysurname/mywebsite.htm but it would be OK to get started.
