Contacting Altberg?

Hello All,

I recently joined this forum specifically to research Altberg boots. After reading the almost wholly positive comments about Altberg I decided that I'd like to order a pair. Given the cost of shipping between the UK and the US, I'd like to get the order right the first time. So, on 10/21 I emailed Altberg with a question about sizing. Five days later, when I had not received a reply, I sent the email again. Another six days have now passed and still no reply. Can anyone suggest why I'm not getting a response? Do I just need to be patient? Are they pissed off at Americans? If so . . . . IT'S NOT MY FAULT!

We have our major motorcycle show here in the UK starting Thursday 4th November......I guess they have a lot to do just now......

From my own experience they are usually quick to respond (same or next day)........

Unless they don't like 'Murcains.............?

They are not going to the show! Now admitting that they may have made a mistake on this one.

They have also been having a few problems with their computer equipment. It appears to be sorted now .

Try again or give them a call.

They are not what you would call techno minded, I was lucky I went to the factory and by a stroke of good luck they had some in my size from a cancelled order, they are very close to Catterick garrison and as such the place is crowded out with squaddies all having battlefield boots made 'cos their issue ones are so crap, the result is they are always very busy and it may be just be they have'nt read the email.

I'd guess you want the Clubman ones, They are excellent, what size, remember UK sizes are different I take a size 10 UK but in US its an 11 post the info and I'll give 'em a ring for you.

Just received an e-mail from Altberg.

We ordered a pair of boots two weeks ago, expecting the usual 6 week delay. Have been informed that delivery will not be until 10th January 2005 - that's my Xmas present late then

Worth checking before you order at the moment.

Assuming that Altberg was having computer problems that have now been sorted, I'll try once more. If I still get no response I'll take you up on your offer. Thanks.

Phoned Altberg this morning, had a pair of size 10 clubmans in stock, being delivered to my workplace on Monday. At last, I have found a way to make Monday interesting!!!!!

Just had my Altberg's delivered today, On Time , and they fit like a glove

Can't fault Altberg.
Me and the wife went up to the factory and were measured by Nigel (the workshop manager) for a set of Hogg Allweather boots.
Went back to pick them up and had them custom fitted to my feet - victim of a drunk driver many years ago, boots are always a problem. Bang on and 100 % satisfied.
I am certainly not aware of anywhere else that will hand make and custom fit boots for the price
