Having had a problem with a pop up called Cyber Protection shutting my system down after many inquiries I discovered that this is not a virus but a con. They wanted $29.99 dollars to repair the faults I had and yet having looked on the Net they would not have altered anything if I had of paid and they would have also had my credit card details as well. Thankfully someone told me to install Windows Defender and that got rid of it. So you now know what to do if you get the same.
However I now have a message every time I turn on telling me that I need to re install CoreFoundation.dll and when I look for a free version of this they all lead me to having to pay money. Does anyone know how I can obtain this free of charge.

I suspect that this is more crap wanting your money. If you run Vista then use "Change Startup Programs" in Control Panel to get rid of it. If this dll was required then it would be available from Microsoft via Windows Update. If you don't have the facility to edit start-up programs from Control Panel (WIN2K doesn't and I've no idea about XP) then look for a copy of Ashampoo WinOptimiser on a computer mag disc.

If you have an Apple prog such as ITunes etc try re- installing it.
Otherwise use a Registry cleaner such as Ccleaner from a reliable site such as CNET.
