Always tried to find an excuse to use the M50 when visiting relatives near Ross (Upton Bishop).

When last we spoke we had just arrived at our lodgings near Bodmin.
The journey from the north had been pretty grotty...lots of traffic and 36 degrees didn't help
After Cheddar, which was hotching with folk...too many to consider stopping, we made the tragic mistake of stopping for a pee at Bridgewater services.....dear reader, put this utter shithole on your list of places never to visit.....grotesquely horrid dump.
However calm was restored on our arrival at Sunnywell....on a working farm, no neighbours, a beautifully converted steading, bedrooms on the bottom, and living room/kichen upstairs to get the views..pix on phone not tablet....shiitfuk...

The next day we were due to meet a mate of mine....Yiannis was the first medical professional to get hands on me when I was carted in in bits to Ninewells Hospital in 2007. In his words...'I took one look at the films and called the boss...!' I was in Ninewells for 2 months and Yiannis popped in to see me wherever ward I was currently blocking....one of his hobbies was deerstalking, I was able to take him out and get him a decent fallow buck at Persie some while later, and we've kept in touch...he is now a consultant surgeon in Truro, so we met for lunch at a lovely riverside pub/restaurant in a village called Malpas on an arm of the River Fal.

When i go north on M6 i always sigh a relief once i pass the turn off for the M55 Blackpool.
Traffic is much less then.
Can cruise along listening to good tunes as mountains come into view.

...followed by a trip over the King Harry Ferry...a chain driven ferry across the R Fal and over to St Mawes...excellent emmetting!

Our next sight seeing was at the Eden Project...actuallybetter and more interesting...educational even...than I had imagined...
...to my horror my wife, who as regular followers will know is a ninjawife, expressed a desire to go on the zipwire!
This one is apparently the second fastest...my companion also wanted to join her so his wife and I watched from the sidelines as they were kitted up in fetish wear..

On round to St Agnes...'cos it was on the telly..very busy so round to Trevaunance Cove, which was also busy but lovely...much rubber, wetsuits and surfing babes in evidence...

The next day was spent having a train ride..
Followed by a tour up to Launceston to the shop of Phillip Warren, butchers, as recommended by someone earlier up,...he was right! A stunning display of local produce..not much for the vegans amongst us!
Pasties bacon and black puddings purchased.
Well worth a detour if you are passing Launceston.

Don't forget a visit to 'Shipton Abbott' (Looe), the backdrop for 'Beyond Paradise', the 'Death in Paradise' spin off and if you want a pasty worth eating find a Malcolm Barnecutts, in Bodmin, Wadebridge and other fine places

A trip to Falmouth was a bit disappointing... journey was fine ...we went by boat from Malpas to arrive at Falmouth harbour but thought the place was quite run down and full of ropey sorts....Asda shoppers...but Padstow was in a different league...busy, thriving and nice folk...Waitrose shoppers.
Its fashionable to run down Rick Stein/Padstein etc but there is no doubt his influence has bought investment, people and cash....place was busy and bustling.

Yes indeed...bit nerdy but loved it!
And back to dine in the Lanivet Inn....not often am I beaten by a plate of grub but I had to admit defeat by the mixed grill..
The place we were staying in was surrounded by fields, but about 300 yards away was this place...especially for Chris and BigbadBob...
