I can see what he's trying to do, but it's not really in keeping with the style of the bike and I would have to take it off every time I cleaned behind it - clear helicopter tape would look better imho

I'm not sure I'd put adhesive helicopter tape on the front engine cover as it gets quite hot![]()
Maybe, hmmmmmm 3M helicopter tape specced to 160C, will have to get my thermometer out.

I fitted a crud catcher to my 1200 GSA about 6 months after taking delivery and 40k plus miles later the front cover still looks like new
If BMW fitted something similar to the bikes on the production just imagine how many £'s in warranty claims they would have saved themselves![]()

a seller of 3M helicopter tape told me it's not at all heat resistant. Are there different types?
