max service temp 160C should be high enough I would have thought?
resistant to most chemicals and UV![]()
That should do the trick alright!

On the LC, isn't the front of the "engine" actually the gearbox? And that should not get as hot as the engine proper..I'm not sure I'd put adhesive helicopter tape on the front engine cover as it gets quite hot![]()

?? Why?? What makes you think this??
The front cover is in the air flow and the combustion takes place about 30 cm away Heads cooled by liquid barrels cooled by air ........
So why would it get as hot as the heads and exhausts?
Maybe not as hot but easilly hot enough as the oil in the clutch is the hot oil circulating in gearbox and other parts of engine.
I belive is the aluminium alloy so it gets pretty hot.
Who Knows I would have thought It wouldn;t get much over a hundred or the rain will just vaporise off it
Interesting I was researching to see what was actually in there and there's the Clutch in the front and an enclosed brushless alternator at the other end
No more feckin alternator belts Yee Haa!
I bet they work.
They just seem to be complicly off the design and break the lines.
On that absolutely personal matter and opinion that they look rough and out of place I won't install it.
I am sure they help but they not to my taste
Spent 3 nights at our caravan up in Rosedale North Yorks Moors.
Spent the days honing and bimbling around the moors running the bike in.
It sat outside for 3 nights in the pouring rain.
I've just washed it down and not a sign of any corrosion anywhere their built to last these new WC's

if it corrodes after a few hours of "exposure" then it really is a piece of shit, you expected it to have signs of corrosion after that.. really ?

While waiting patiently for a fender extender to become available and not wanting to batter the front engine cover with stone chips I bought some or this. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261152780...eName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
I fitted a small V shaped piece starting at the bottom edge, covering the two bottom cover mounting holes and following the raised lines of the cover up to just above the BMW letters stamped into the cover.
Not a huge area covered but after a 200 mile jaunt yesterday I can confirm it did a superb job. On inspection, the tape had a couple of chips in it but wasn't punctured and there was no sign of it melting of lifting.
Well pleased![]()
+1
I'd never have one on any of my bikes![]()
nor me.
