Has anyone had experience of the ferries from France to Corsica?
What to avoid, etc,
Thanks

What to avoid?

Missing it.

Falling in the water.

Forgetting your passport / bike.

Other than that, they are a vast improvement on what they used to be like:

PS If you go to the Michelin Virees a Moto website you will find five suggested Corsican routes, available as .gpx downloads along with their corresponding PDF route cards. If they are as good as others in the series you are in for a treat. I have converted them already.

Here's a handy link: http://ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?p=2608500 I am not sure that DropBox is working at the moment, so not sure if the public link is working. If it isn't try again later.

Corsican ferries are usually cheaper but generally prices are close, one piece of advice, avoid overnight returns to Toulon or Marseille as they can get seriously rough seas when the mistral wind is blowing, retun to Nice its usually much calmer. The roads are a joy to ride with scenic overload if you like that sort of thing, enjoy :thumb

When leaving Corsica, get to the ferry terminal early...........:blast

Do not avoid the yellow boats

Avoid speaking English :D Nah, they're great. Fast ferry service from Nice, which I've used a lot, though they are cheaper from Limone in Italy, which isn't that much further round the coast. Nice is far easier to get in and out of than Marseille, and the service from Toulon isn't as frequent or as quick. Websites here.
