On the verge of buying a 2010 GSA but I have a few of questions first.

1. What is the width of the GSA with panniers fitted? Do they stick out further than the mirrors? My GTR is 930mm and can be a tight squeeze getting past our car in the driveway. (if it's too wide I can always sell the car :augie)

2. I'm a bike instructor and will be using this for work and play, I know it's good out on the open road and single tracks but what is it like around town? I'm not too worried about the weight (anyone thats ridden a GTR will know if you can flick one of them around in traffic you can handle a heavy bike) or getting my feet down.
I'm more thinking about slow riding (I didn't really do slow on my test ride :) ) is it easy enough to handle at low speeds like following mopeds up hill at 20mph and filtering through traffic?

3. The model I'm looking at has the Premium Package (reckon I've managed 20 odd years being able to stop safely without ABS so I'll manage without the Dynamics, plus thats the one the dealer has available)
I'm not one for changing bikes every couple of years and wanted to ask opinions on how reliable all the electrickery (ESA, etc) on these bikes are as it's gonna be a year round bike and though I ain't traveling round the world on it I will rattle up the mileage and I need something thats reliable.

Cheers in advance.

I used to commute on one into town every day, never found filtering/slow speed manouvering a problem

I would renew the warranty though when it runs out. Personally i wouldnt have one of these without ABS.

Cheers in advance.

Hope this helps!

You may not want ABS but the person you sell it to probably will.
Maybe the reason dealer has it available. may worth chasing for a deal

thanks for the slow riding info:thumb

I'd already seen the bike width inc mirrors but wasn't sure if the panniers projected out further.

Why do you think it needs ABS so badly, have you had to use it?

Just don't get the need for ABS to be honest.:nenau

I've no intention of selling it on anytime soon, don't change bikes on a whim.

A bikes for life not just for Xmas.

I have been offered about 10% off the list price, think I should push for more?

Whatever you get though, you wont regret it..

1. Dunno, but if you get stuck PM me and I will get measure out.

2. Brilliant, funny front end allows for loads of lock, plus it is very light I find round town MUCH better than ZZR I had before.

3. Extended warranty eased my mind, I think, looking around here it is hard to tell if this is, or is not honoured, but hoping it won't go wrong in first place, and if it does warranty will prevail.

My old 14's ABS kikced in repeatedly on bumps until I had forks modded, then it never happened again over next 10k, never had ABS on any previous bikes, so have managed about 250k without needing it. Got a deal on 2008 with Comfort pack +ABS, but all I really wanted was heated grips and trip computer.

Always nice to know you have ABS, but I think most bike riders have managed for years without it.
