Cracked Crank !

Well at the risk of slightly hi-jacking your thread my bike is gone, hacked in against another BWM - talk about brand loyalty eh? The last one (HP2) needed new forks and wheels at 2 years but despite the last two bikes being less than hoped for I just have a thing for boxers so roll on September :)

Meanwhile I need another enduro to replace the GX.

So what BMW bike did you p/x your G450X for then? And what enduro bike are you going to get?

Have you been given a replacement bike while yours is in for repair?

Have I bollox.

Tell them to sod off... the bike is clearly not fit for purpose as the engine is shagged.

Tell them you don't have any faith in their product, If it was to knacker again then you might be left to pick up the cost.

I had a similar thing with a new car a few years ago, I argued and argued with Peugeot until I got my cash back.

Martin Lewis (the moneysaving expert guy) swears by this saying :-

S saleable goods
A as
D Described

F fit for purpose
A a
R reasonable
T time

Your bike falls quite clearly into 2 sections, 1 :- the fit for purpose bit and 2 :- a reasonable time before it knackers bit.

To sum it up......You want your cash back !!

Good luck

Yep - already told BMW Finance this. There's not fekkin way I'm having that bike back.

Well at the risk of sounding boring I went for the r1200R in black with stuff. I have been working away for the last month so I left it to Christel to sort so I think she just ticked every box she could see - it has the ABS/ASC and computer thingy plus the electronic sussies and other shiny bits.

When the GX went south they gave me a new 1200 as a loaner, we went out a few times on it and thought wow! - this just suits us and our style so we had one. It will be perfect for trips out to DK and Sweden etc. We have agreed to just stick with a tank bag and small tail bag so we can still have little adventures but this time stop in Huts or small hotels instead of dragging camping gear around.

Fuel consumption is stunning at 60+mpg and lack of fairing stops me being a loon for too long, it comes with a screen but that will be binned in favour of a little black number like I had on my HP, I will also put some flatter bars on, the bottom line is performance wise it feels quicker than my HP2 was so great for both of us :thumb2

Enduro wise prolly a couple of year old KTM450.

Down side is neither of these bikes are GS related :(
