cracked rear brake mounting

bikes in for a service and replace of power output shaft seal.every bolt hole for rear disc is cracked.06 model with 44k,new to me last year so dont know how long they have been like this but have a full dealer service history.
dealer parts dept have never sold the part as nothing goes wrong with it.
can I blame bmw for a bad part and how would i go about it?
cant put pics up a it's lying in workshop.
anyone heard of something similar?

Thats a good one, along with: No, your bum isn't too big in that dress, the cheques in the post, no I won't come in your mouth, etc etc.....

My compelte final drive was replaced by BMW due to cracking round the bolt holes.

Strange process....It took my bike into a tyre dealer to get a new rear tyre where they noticed the cracking, his brother worked for BMW Battersea and had asked him to look out for the problem. I phoned his brother and needed to book my bike in so they could "find the problem"....they duly replaced the complete final drive for free.

At this stage my bike was nearly 8 years old and over 70000 miles and had not been near a dealership for 5 years.

Seems that BMW "may" replace the cracked brake mounting if the find it....

Hi. It happened to me on a 95000 km 2005 R1200gs, a year ago. Local (Israel) BMW replace the part, free.
