It looks as if I need to replace the crankshaft seal on my 1989 R100GS.
Firstly, is this straightforward and secondly, apart from lubing the splines and possibly fitting a new clutch, what else should I do by way of preventitive maintenance whilst I've got the gearbox out?

, which had a earlier shaft (with out the oils seal in the end) should have a Felt seal wrapped the push rod which you would need to change the clutch arm and end cover.
