Hi all,

Just wondering if anybody's had a fault similar to the one my bike appears to have developed.

It spends a lot of time on motorways, so I got to know its cruise control really well.

Over the last three or four days, whenever I take it out of cruise control by pulling in the clutch (my usual procedure), it quickly build up the revs, all the way to the limiter, then drops the revs back to something more normal. This is regardless of the position of the throttle.

Obviously, this isn't right.

Before I take it to BM - has anybody had similar experiences?

Thanks!

That sounds dangerous as well. I would advice going to the dealer. It may be just a switch gear issue which may get sorted by a squish of WD-40 ...

I always disconnect by a quick pull on the front brake lever, just enough to disengage the CC and when I disconnect it is if I have suddenly closed the throttle. I now roll on a little more throttle before disconnecting to keep things smooth and there is no increase RPM. If you just briefly squeeze the clutch you should disconnect quite smoothly, but if the clutch engages then clearly the RPM will rise if the throttle is open at all. Not sure if you hold the throttle position when you pull the clutch in or just leave it to rotate?

It doesn't matter what method you use to disengage the CC if the revs are hitting the limiter that clearly isn't right :augie

I would advise you get it to your dealer as soon as is convenient :thumby:

As previous post it doesn't matter if you disengage the cruise control by touching the brake, backing off the throttle past its stop, pull in the clutch or by physically turning it off via the switch the revs thing is dangerous for example what happens if you go to tdisengage cruise control the revs rise and it doesn't disengage.

Personally I would have the bike straight to a dealer and sure as hell would be leaving cruise control firmly in the off position until then

Thanks guys, all good points. It's going in for a service next week anyway.
