Brought my new GS to London today for the first time. It was a good opportunity to use the cruise control on the A3 which worked fine the first time. After touching the brake and therefore disengaging CC I couldn't get it reingage again. Is it broken or I am I being numpty and not using some wizardry to reset it?

Had the same thing. Than I noticed that the CC button was positioned only half way. Try again and make sure your CC button is positioned to the utmost right.

Thanks but I did try that. The little switch was moving back and forwards but just not engaging CC.
I think it sounds like a visit to the dealer.

Sounds like it indeed. If you also included pushing the small lever behind the CC button and not moving too slow, the CC should have been activated. Not the first time I read about this. The button is a little flimsy, if you ask me.

I leave the switch in the ON position all the time. Then a nudge forward of the small switch to activate, and roll off/ brake/ clutch to deactivate.:thumb

Me too, just love the cruise control especially when you're riding miles across Europe on their relatively empty roads.

I had the same thing. Ended up at the dealer and confirmed the failure on the way there. The mechanic came out and said "Nothing wrong here"
Lo and beholde it "suddenly" worked. He insisted he didn't do anything. Bullcookies!

Never thought much about it before but it's well handy!

One of those things that you won't want to be without once you've had it

I had the same feeling when I bought it for a good 2/3 days, the cruise control not engaging... Until I realised the on/off bottom needs to be fully pushed to the right for the control to work.

I love cruise control, going through villages I just press it and can happily remove my gloves, call the wife, have a cup of tea etc

I agree the cruise control is useful. I had the Primus stove on and managed to fry a couple of sausages for a butty as well as a brew up. I admit it was a long village.

My cruise control became temperamental a couple of weks ago. It wouldn't stay engaged. As soon as I let go of the throttle grip, the CC went off. But not all the time. What I do now is I keep the CC switch pressed back until I let go of the throttle grip. It works. So far. I have ordered a new left unit uner warranty anyway. Seems a few people have problems with the switches.

Still, the WC is a fantastic machine. There.
