They are not effective now... they are lost... I could't bring myself to spend £150 on something that could be so easily lost or broken... never buy expensive sunglasses for the same reason.
£150 is a LOT, but if they last then I don't mid. They look VERY fragile in the pictures...seem esp. vulnerable during helment removal.
I bought a set of DIY custom plugs at the Scottish motorcycle show for £10. Dead easy to make but I was not sure just how effective they were.

Your not comparing like-for-like. A pair of custom-made plain earplugs is around fifty quid. Only gets more expensive if you add ear monitors and stuff.

They are so good however, both in terms of noise reduction and comfort, that I've sent my moulds back to have a new pair manufactured. Once I've got those I'll send the old ones back for repair.
