cylinder head cover bolts 1150

Is there anyone who knows how to take away the bolts that holds the cylinder head cover? I don't see how they're fitted in the metal with the rubber seal, is it only to push them out?

And how to take away the oil filling cap plastic thread in the cover too?

I'm going to paint them black instead of blue.

They should slide out enough to mask of the head and spray them surely? Dont paint em too much otherwise you might not get your tool in to tighten em up.

the oil filler thread just pulls out but you will need a new o ring for when you re-assemble

Thanks for the answers, but it's not the bolts I will paint, it's the covers!

Probably I could just mask the bolts and the rubber seal, but it would feel better to do it the real way.

What did you paint the cylinder head cover with. Paint, I would guess, but what kind? And did you give consideration to the heat and how is that working for you? I've thought of a little spray on liner but I'm too cowardly to try it just yet. Any issues?

After talking to a man in a motorpaint store, I bought a heat resistant colour for up to 150 centigrades! The results was very good, for this paint to even out and get an extremely good surface, you should heat both the paint and the thing you want to paint to 60 centigrades, the paint a bit lower so it doesn't blow!

I even let it get almost dust dry, and then put it in the oven for a few minutes at low temp! (And guess who spent the rest of the week cleaning oven)

I do need to brush upon my Swedish that is for sure. Pictures look great. I'll need to look into something like that. Krylon makes a heat resistant paint for barbeques. I'll check the heat tolerance of that but I saw it only in flat black...not exactly what I am looking for.
The neck brace thing looks pretty cool as well. Again, my Swedish fails me but I haven't seen them over here yet. Looks like a very good idea....assuming they make one for people with tree-trunk sized necks.

If you talk to a car part/engine tuning/car styling store, they should have! In the store where I got mine, they had almost every base colour!

Dont't you have the BMW neckbrace in UK? It saved my neck when a pile of tyres hit me in the forehead, after the bike had thrown me off completely without reason

By the way, the parts of the bike that are repainted, is it for a reason

I'll check out the Leatt place in SA. They may have it in the UK, but I am in the USA. Haven't seen them here yet.
Yeah those bikes can be tempermental and toss you without warning. Good to know where you can get touch up paint at a moment's notice. Thanks for the info.
