Hi I have just picked up my New GSW and the date displays in the back to front US style. THe dealer said this is the way the Germans have set it up, but the picture in the Owners Manual shows standard date format. Wondering if this is the case, or is the dealer just BS ing me because he doesn't really know how to change .

Who gives a shit what the format is, I'm sure you will know what day it is when you throw your leg over it ?

Your dealer is BS-ing you. I had my dealer change my clock from American (yy-mm-dd) format to European format (dd-mm-yr), as well as from 12 hour AM-PM format to 24 hour format without problem.

One thing I like about a pommy site they don't mind taking the piss out of Aussies. You might beat us in the cricket but we will give the Lions a nose bleed.

Anyway thanks for the info I thought it was BS, especially since the manual shows Euro Standard.

They didn't seem to know how to do it at my first service at Vines, so it looks like I'll have to pop back there soon. Can the temperature and tyre pressure units be changed as well?

Hmm. My dealer also said it couldn't be changed when it went in for first service! :blast

In your dreams, I see the Aussies are playing there usual games and putting sub standard teams out, just watched the Waratahs, 9 first team players injured or not available, what a sham, we'll see how many are injured come next Saturday :thumb2

Yes. Had them changed on mine at first service. Wonder what else the technicians haven't been trained on with the new model? :blast

Australia? Didn't you used to be good at sport?

Booked in for the first service, asked the tech to make the changes and he confirmed that they can :barf Also decided to sell my 3 daughters and get the spot lights fitted , Ouch what a cost. Parts list is a mile long for the lights and includes a new mirror mount for the switch.

Then I will be ready for our Winter ride , which if you are a Pommy is really a summer ride !

Hey.... You can that the piss all you like where sport is concerned but don't, take it out of our weather!!!

......

Self note.. On my first service I need my dealer to change time to 24hrs, date to UK style, consumption to litres. mmm anything else?

Mine went into Vines yesterday for its 1st service - I asked them to change the date to Uk and tyre pressure to PSI...didnt say they couldn't do it...we'll see tonight.

With all the other settings available on the display, why didn't BMW just allow the owner to make the changes via the Setup ??
