No Big Bike class?

I am specifically building up my Special Airhead racer for this event. I bust my wrist badly in 2012 dragging my R1100GS around this course and want something a tiny bit lighter this time but still with BMW flat twin power.:)

I only want to do the shortened overnight course from 7.00 pm Saturday until the Sunday morning when it opens up for the longer harder full course.

I want to enter but not sure which format to choose? Do I have to select the full 24 hour package and then just retire in the morning? If I manage to wrestle an airhead around for 12 hours in the dark I would like to think that I would have achieved something.

Please make a 12hr overnight route an option.:) You never know, we might even persuade a few other from here to join in as Team Tossers.:D

The big problem is that the terrain is too difficult for the big bikes, we struggled as marshalls with dragging them out of ditches and many breakdows, i have asked and will again for them to put on a big bike run but in the day. it could go in between the kids races and the start of the 24 hr at 7pm on Saturday

Appreciate your comments. I think it could be relatively easy for the big big bikes to avoid the difficult muddy boggy sections by just having an alternative route around on the fire roads. The over night riding is unique and totally different to any of the other Big Bike Rally events.

I've been thinking about this and I'm happy to volunteer as a travelling marshall if there is not an overnight section. Otherwise, I might bring my airhead and my KTM and try to use the Airhead overnight and the KTM during the day.

I've tried contacting Nick Plumb at Touratech but can't get him either by phone or email.:(

Whatever happens I will be there.:thumby:

Started my physical training this morning on my mountain bike and realised that I have a long way to go to get fit so thank goodness it is still 8 months away.:)

Cheers

Still no reply from Nick Plumb or Touratech.:(

Double checked regs and it looks like I can enter the 24 hour race and have more than one bike to use.:) So plan is to use the R65 Special to start with and see how it goes. If possible I will try to use that overnight on the shortened course and swap to my KTM 300EXC in the morning when it switches to the full course. If the airhead is completely unsuitable then I'll switch earlier to the KTM.

Just paid up and signed on! Team Tosser is GO!

Now there's just the small matter of getting fit enough. I'm going to devise a training plan involving gym work and riding the KTM around my enduro course in my woods.

Anyone else from here mad enough to enter?
