Anyone fancy putting a HP2 team together for the Dawn to Dusk? Would need x2 more bikes and riders?

Cheers

Very tempted... but no idea if I'm good enough...

Talked to the guys at the BMW school about this quite a lot as it held at the same siteand they said that quite a few guys just enter for a bit of fun..... do a lap...... light the BBQ have some food then off for another lap.... the strap line is "Make Your Own Adventure"

I am no off road god, far from it, just want a bit of fun and to say I had a go....

Come on Mav that would be two of us just need one more idiot!!!!

talking of idiots my HP won't be back in time... but i should be there for moral support and beer drinking:D

Well if being stupid is the qualification, then I'm overly qualified!!

As for another person to make up the team - perhaps we can convince Louis to join us :augie

Lo-iq can be our mechanic :D

Mechanic I like the sound of that, had mine in loads of bits....:augie

meant to thank Darren at Vines for getting it put back together:blast

I have got a fridge that runs off my truck battery:thumb2

When is it and whats the entry fee?

August the 29 and 30, 6 hour 12 hour and 24 hour. all running at the same time. about £100 per bike but i might be wrong on that, if you google dawn to dusk its all there, il be marshalling rather than riding:augie If its been dry in august then a HP2 would be fun,if its been a wet summer then a trials bike would be the prefered weapon!!!!

Louis

ps Mav thats the year Ian & Me came 2nd in the 2 man clubman

I'm probably doing it this year on my wr250. Went last year to watch/drink etc!!

Keep an eye on the exteme channel (Channel 527 on virgin) as they recently showed a 1 hour programme on last years event.

Cheers Stuart.

So is that a yes Mav & Louis? Got Lo-IQ and spanner/beer and BBQ guy.....

Thier are loads of Chicken Runs on it...... which I will be taking!

Could start with the Langdale Rally in June/July as a warm up/practice?

Cheers

I'll know tomorrow, I'm having a meeting with touratech see what it's all about.

Lo

PS I'm just going to take some pictures of the rear shock on My HP

Sorry to let you down, I've had a good think about it, for me the HP2 is not the bike to ride in the D2D but think its a great bike :thumb

I've competed in the D2D 5 times, 1st four in a 2 man team and the last time as Ironman and we (Ian) and me rode the laps together.

I would suggest if two or more of you are doing it on HP2's or bigger bikes that you enter Iron man (1 man team), ride together as it is a large lap and it's difficult for the marshalls to monitor every section of the track and you could be lay under your bike for a long time if your off the track.

I am thinking about buying a cheap enduro bike and entering the 24 hour race, as this is something new.

Best of Luck

Would be up for some Rallys and have talked to Mav about it as I have been told there good fun on the bigger bikes

I'm out Trail riding most weekends so why not come out for a play when you have a spare weekend you would be more than welcome (Mav comes out when he's not working away)

Small clip Pipster posted as a taster of what we ride :thumb2

D2D

Gotta say that i am well interested, but not sure if i am up to the challenge!!:augie
i am probabally more of a 'ride a lap, have a BBq ride another lap' sort of person at this stage. And seeing as i dont have another smaller enduro to ride, stuck with the HP.

up for a weekend with Louis tho if it is an open invite!

Hi Guys,

If you dont want to do it on a HP2 then I am quite happy to do it on another bike, have a KTM as well. Richies you sound like my sort of level!!!!

Dont think you can enter the beginners (is that Clubman?) as an Ironman you have to be in a 3 man team.....

Would love a weekend trail riding, let me know some dates and I will book the time off with the wife!!!!

Cheers

Myself also a lap - BBQ - talk shite - BBQ - lap type of guy, I am very VERY keen to do this on my HP2 and will be the first ever Enduro/rally type event ever done by myself.

Let me check with the Mrs how we are set for that weekend this year and will confirm by Monday :blast :blast
