i am going to be getting a very cheap dirtbike for using in the hills and green laning and would like to now if a bike just has to have a stop light horn and road going tires for a day time mot ?
as i my just put the bike on a van and drop the bike of next to were i would green lane as it as that might be cheaper
thanks

There is no such thing as a 'daytime MOT' (If no lights are fitted then the tester should issue an advisory notice to that effect.) If lights are fitted then they must work correctly. If there are no lights fitted then it doesn't need a brake light for the MOT. It does need a horn.

Yup. We used to do that on a Guzzi Classic Racebike. It was run on the road with just a horn and a brake light. But as Number 6 says, no lights at all when presented for test.
Many test stations may be unhappy about doing that type of test, if they don't know what's what.
Step one - know your tester. :thumb
