My 2002 1150 GS has the following symptoms:
1) When trying to start it on the cold mornings, it does need a bit of throttle, otherwise it will fire up and immediately die.
2) I have noticed these few days that when I start it and when I am ready to go I get sometimes ABS failure warning (2 ABS lights not flashing together, and the ABS engagement sound not heard), when I turn the key off and turn on again ABS returns to normal (so I suppose ABS is not problematic!).
3) When I turn my headlights on, I can hear the fuel pump sound lowering...(I understand that since power consumption increases, just don't know if it's normal to sound so).
4) Today after riding to work, and getting ready to leave for home (around 5 Km's distance) I had the worst...First try and I feel the bike getting low on power, off course it did it not ignite...2nd attempt and it's better, I use the choke (as always when cold) and a bit of throttle and I am ready to go...when I notice my clock is 0:00 and my ABS lights are flashing as in fault (not together)...let the bike run a bit to catch up with temperature, (not even the first bar sawing) get on it, turn off to reset the ABS...turn on...flashing again, I did it this around 4 times, and eventually it did manage to stay as it should be (blinking together) but again I could feel the bike low on power (engine ready to stall), everything dissapears once on the road and once the engine has reached at least 3 bars...
I already ordered an Odyssey battery (since I have strong indications that this all are battery related problems), but since my bike is going in Wednesday for its 30000Km service should I check something else?
P.S This is a second hand bike, and I only own it for around 1000Km's (just so everybody knows that I am not familiar with what the previous owner did ).

Sounds likely that if youre doing a 5km trip twice a day on it a new Odyssey battery may do it the world of good ;)

I'd get that on and see if the symptoms disappear ....

Everything you describe sounds like low battery, but with only a 5 KM commute you might take too much out of the battery even if theres nothing wrong with it, can you charge your battery to see?

Thanks mate! :)
Last one, is there a need for any mods for the odyssey battery on the 1150? or does it fit ok?

I do around 15 Km's per day (except 1 small trip I have managed to put on, around 300 Km's) after the trip the bike sounded quite better!
I put the charger on the + mod (check a previous post of mine) and the - on the passengers footpeg, but the charger remains level as if the battery is full, I have not removed the tank to check what is happening, but because of the previous owner not moving the bike for a long time I suspect this is actually a battery problem (the tires where also rubbish...replaced them with Tourance's and I see a different world now! LOL).
Charger is ok, since I maintain my CBR 1000RR battery with it.

First rule of battery chargers, don't believe them if they tell you the battery is ok ;)

If the battery was left discharged or low capacity when the bike was stored, that wouldn't have helped its capacity after you got it :(

Oh well if its only the battery that I am paying...it does not annoy me that much (it does a little...since I could be buying something else LOL but...)...I just hope that that's the root of all evil :)
