In a Remote area apparently.
Yuasa YTX14-BS or Motobatt MBTX12U ? Ive been sorting out some af the ancilary wiring on my GSA and the bike hasent been started since september for one reason or another but it started first time a couple of nights ago no problem. Went out this morning to finish said wiring (i fitted a Centech fuse panel) and tried to start the bike.............nowt, nada, fuck all. Tested batt with multimeter.......4.5v :blast. So i now have it on the Cetek charging away, maybe it will come back to life fuck knows but it is the original and 2 1/2 years old so might be worth buying a new one just in case this one is fooked. Merry feckin crimbo to me :rolleyes:
 
Worth checking you don't have a problem with the new wiring but I had the motobatt on my GSA with zero problems. The double terminals were handy as well.
 
You have a CTEK and a bike you haven't run for over 3 months, and you only connect them now?

Ive recently replaced my Yuasa YTZ14S MF for a Motobatt MBTX12U in mu 09 GSA. The Motobatt is physically taller than the Yuasa so the battery spacer had to be removed from the bike to allow it to fit, but it still sits taller than the Yuasa which means the original battery strap isn't quite long enough. But the Motobatt does still fit ok.

Surely the Cetek is a battery conditioner - not a simple charger?

You may have fcuked that battery.

Most CTEK chargers are designed for "simple connect and forget charging"
 
I leave my caravan leisure battery permenantly connected to my Ctek over winter. I also have a Ctek soft connector permenantly connected to my bikes battery, so I can easily connect the Ctek straight to it without removing the seat...

Keeping a battery permenantly on a Cetek/optimate - can mask a battery problem. The bike starts okay, but 20 miles down the road - it's not got a start in it.

The Cetek may lift your battery this time,however.

Thats why i dont do it. However i will order a new one as a standby just in case this one doesnt recover. This is the first time its failed so not looking good but you never know. 😊
 
I'm devastated another one gone, I had a triple A die on me once couldn't turn the telly off from my chair. I feel your pain.
 
Well ive done a TPS reset and its now offering to start and then stopping. So im now hoping if i leave it to dry out (i think its flooded) it might go. Batttery seems fine although ive connected up the Ctek again just to make sure its got the full ooommph when i try it again. Strange thing is everything was fine before batt went flat. Ive got laptop and GS911 on standby lol.
