Dead Battery?

My 1150GSA has sat idle for around 4 months, outside and under a cover.

It was running fine and I've used a Ctek charger to maintain the battery but have not left the charger permanently connected.

I just went to pop it on charge and the Ctek charger isn't putting anything to the battery. I've checked and cleaned all of the connections behind the charger plug and even swapped one from my 1100GS but nothing, the charger works as I'm using it now on my 1100GS.

The clock on the GSA is blank, is it likely to be a dead battery?

Possibly one sick cell in the battery. Not got a voltmeter to measure across the terminals?

I have but being a numpty I have never used it or know how to.

Just checked, the battery is 12 years old so suspect it is definitely that.

sometimes a very flat battery will be reported duff by a smart charger - take the battery out of the bike and connect it to jump leads from a good battery, bike or car. Then connect the charger to the bike battery. Let the charger settle then disconnect the jump leads. You might be lucky.

12 Y/O battery - forget resurrection; even if it works, murphy's law says it will let you down at the most inconvenient moment later on. Just buy a new one.
