I bought my 1200GS from SPC but it is a 200 mile round trip for servicing and some of the comments in some other threads have reinforced my own feelings about the service they offer.
I believe that there is a dealer in Bristol but they do not seem to even have a web site. Could someone with experience of them let me have their views. Are they going to be funny if I use them for servicing but didn't buy the bike from them?

Thanks
Clive

Bath Road Motorcycles. They do have a website Here

I wouldn't imagine they would care where you bought the bike from, a customer who has servicing done and trusts you will likely buy his next bike from you... Thats how I see it anyway :)

Bath Road Motorcycles or as they are now called "Bristol Motorrad" are just opposite the HTV building on Bath Rd in Bristol. They have two buildings - the old showroom and then a spanky new showroom just a hundred yards further on.

They certainly aren't funny about servicing a bike bought elsewhere. That's what I did, I got my R1150GS from Cooper Reading (because I didn't like the Bath Rd salesman who called me "sonny") but they do all my servicing and warranty work. I have never had any major problems with their service/technical staff. My major gripe is with BMW who constantly fail to deliver parts to Bath Rd for warranty work.

Or you could nip up the A46 to BVM Stroud.

Charming Fellows and lots of good reports/comments on here.

or you could be brave and venture down to deepest darkest Dorset to CW Motorcycles in Dorchester.

sherlocks

and devalue your new bike and no proper BMW stamp in the book and no warranty work, (they are not an authorised BMW dealer) but fine for the older, out of warranty bmw`s.. nick

I'm in Bath too with a r1200gs also, and travel the 60 miles to
C & W in Dorchester ( Bike purchased from there too). My experience of sales and service at C & W is nothing but ultra positive to date.

I bought my first GS (1100) from BVM - Tim in sales is great and customer orientated, a really sound bloke but customer orientated culture...ummm try getting your bike serviced or an MoT on weekends - B V M (Baron Von Mark - allegedly) a pretty prussian outfit (no xeonophobia here and I'm european!)

Bath Road - Service Dept - Mike is excellent but after a couple of experiences this year and the responses from the front of house monkeys and organ grinder I would prefer not to spend my money there.

Though I have friends who rate them, so you pays your lucre and take your chance?

See you round Bath.
