Hey Up

Has anyone out there had any experiences, good or bad, with B*W dealers in my part of the world ( North Yorkshire ) I just need someone who can seervice my 'bike, without ripping me off......don't we all !! I am quite prepared to pay good money, as long as I get a good job......Am I expecting too much ?.....

Cheers

Jonnie

I could recommend a good mobile mechanic - he did my 24,000 miler for £100!!

A good dealer

Hi Johnny, I would recomend Alan Jeffries in Shipley, every time. I do a 220 mile round trip to get my service work done there.Top lads down there.

Greetings Johnnie!

I go with Frisky 100% - always get a great service at Jefferies and take the odd bike out for a blast while it's there.

Good Dealer for servicing

I would recommend Rainbow in Rotherham, they may be a bit far for you.
Nearer to N Yorkshire is Barrie Robson in York he has a single techie.

I bet Rainbow is cheaper than Jefferies and Robson.
Paid £132 for a 6000 service in Sept.......... Jefferies wanted about £165 from memory

Hi

Many thanks for all your replies, they are very much appreciated. Seems like I will be on my way to Rainbows or Jefferies, depending on which one can fit me in first.

I was intrested to hear your coments regarding servicing costs. It would appear that you guys pay from £130 to £160 ( ish ) for a 6000 mile service. I bought my 1150 gs in March. It's a Oct 2002 ( 52 ) single spark, with servo brakes. It only had 1,200 miles on it when I bought it. I booked it into Barrie Robson's for an annual check. The 'bike had 1,802 miles on it at the time of the check, and I was charged £ 182.17. This did seem high, but I am new to B*W.This is definitely much more than I have paid for an " intrim " check on my my Jap 'bikes, Harleys and Triumphs. I would have thought that an annual check would cost less than a 6,000 mile service. What am I missing ?.....What do you think ?.....

Cheers

Since 1995 I have used both Barrie Robson and Rainbow and have no complaints with either although I do not keep a check on prices for services. I can recommend both.
I have also had bikes serviced - a couple of times - by Mill in Sunderland and I would always pick Robson or Rainbow.
The only complaint about Rainbow is the distance from north North Yorkshire.

I'll put in another good word for Jeffries. My experience with their service has been consistently excellent.

Stoney - Which mobile mechanic do you use? Is it Bob Lodge? I've been thinking I'd be better off not using a dealer for servicing.

cheers
