Your very good article on adjusting tappets and end float is without a piccy [ or i cant open the file] showing where the end float is actually measured, could you enlighten me ? Ta in advance Big Jessie.
I sometimes leave out a picture as a warning aid.
If you're depending on one picture to do the job put the tools down and step away from the bike.

Well i reckon its a pretty important picture ie the article is after all regarding END FLOAT. if this is the kind of so called advice you give then you may as well not bother, this is the second time i have had smart arse answers from certain people on this site . Perhaps its true what other bikers say that bmw riders are up themselves. can i have a refund for my subscription? Some of you are like spoilt petulant brats GROW UP oh and byebye

Got a Haynes,doesnt show where to measure end float,been working on bikes for 33 years , stripped a cbx 6 engine and rebuilt it , bet you dont even know what one is.What an unhelpfull bunch you lot really are. the long winter nights must fly by , seeing who is the most unhelpfull. APRILIA FORUMS are full of helpfull lads who have a genuine sense of humour and dont have to stoop to sarcasm. Dont bother writing a witty ??? reply cos i can do without TOSSERS!!! in my life and will never grace this shite forum again pippip
Hey Big Jessie Chill there's a lot of piss taking goes on
Rocker end float can be at either end of the rocker bar
When the cam pushes the mini push rod onto the siamesed rocker arm to open a pair of valves it can slide up and make a click if there is too much space
To adjust you need to undo one head nut and 3 gold torx bolts
head bot retorque = 20 nm plus 180 degrees
Now Does that Help without a Tizzie!

If he has, I think it's a pity.
The main reason I joined here years ago was because I had loads of questions and thought this was the best place to get them answered - the charm, charisma and witty repartie / piss taking was just the icing on the cake.
I still think this is the best place to get problems sorted, but it would be a sad day if some people didn't even feel comfortable asking us a genuine serious question for fear of being humiliated or "shot down". Big Jessies right about one thing though; I wouldn't know what a CBX 6 engine even looked like.

I've done a picture "how to" and it's still not good enough.
If someone can build a CBX engine then WTF do they need a picture to know how to measure end float on something as basic as an engine with rocker arms ?? . The name alone describes what's needed to do.
CBX engines also have end float to measure, and on more than just rocker arms.

Can't blame you for that flounce he had, He's been around for a while so should know the crack, asked a few other help Q's which were sorted out. Just needs to chill out more I reckon
