Just came across this site and found it really interesting, and something that might be interesting for a ride out or two.
A degree of confluence is where there's a whole degree in latitude and it meets the line where there's a whole degree in longditude.
There are apparently 38 in the UK, most of which have been found and photographed already, and there are 14,027 on land in the world.
This site aims to record all these degree confluences , and the adventures that people have getting to them.
At any one time you can't be further than 49 miles from one.
Cool stuff....I'm going to look at the maps for the Scoots trip to see how close we'll come to one, as a bunch or TITS sitting on scoots right at a newly 'found' confluence would be cool
