Deleting maps from a 2610??

I've been looking through the manual and looking in Help in Mapsource but can't figure how to delete maps from the GPS.
I can disable them sure but I want to delete some of them altogether to recover some more memory on the cf card and then upload some different maps. Anyone know how to do it??

Any reload of maps will overwrite your current load anyway.

i have all of UK on my card, if i start adding europe & the card fills up, what does it erase first? the first listed UK bits?

All of it will be overwritten - it effectively wipes the card before writing & you'll be left with what you've just loaded.

The answer is to re-load with the UK and the new maps. I save map sets on the laptop so I can switch between map loads easily.
