Hi

Looking at a quote for new GS I could not help noticing that a few hundred pounds were added at the bottom of the bill with the wording "delivery charges". After enquiring I was told that the hefty figure corresponds to the cost of transporting the bike from Germany to the Land of Hope and Glory. :eek
This doesn't sound right to me....have all had this sum added to your bill when buying a new bike or what?
Thanks and
Cheers

Yep.:blast Cheaper than going to Germany to pick it up yourself though:augie:D

Why does it matter?

As a consumer the only price that matters is the final invoice price.

The main reason dealers separate out this amount is that it is treated as an overhead rather than part of the assets of the business like a bike would be. This saves them a few quid in tax.
