Dent - Midsummer Meet

Good to meet up with you guys!
I’d had a great weekend… local carnival on my bicycle Saturday morning, a ride to a local classic show Saturday lunchtime on my BSA followed by a 200 mile up to Barrow for Dave Day on the Harley . An evenings (and early morning) drinking and a ride over to Dent on Sunday for a quiet evening… except for the snoring….😱 Back home today and have spent fruitless 2 hours trying to locate a used headlight….

What happened Glynn ?
Looks expensive. 😲

No idea…. Might recall hearing something…. Only noticed it when I got home…probably happened on the motorway… eBay has come to the rescue. Surprisingly scarce - well left ones and before 2008 anyway

Just arrived back home. A cracking couple of days. Sadly the Sun Inn was closed due to staff shortages, but it did give me the opportunity to try the 'Hawkstone' premium lager that was on in the George and Dragon. Very nice too.

The Sun Inn was unexpectedly closed on Sunday due to staff issues. Bugger.
In any case the George and Dragon served Timothy Taylor's Bolt Maker and a very nice Hawkstone Premium lager that Steve was on. Paul settled into the Hawkstone draught cider which was rather strong and I've forgot what Glynn was drinking. The pub served three versions of the lager, premium 4.8%, midrange 4% and a weaker one 3.5%.
After trying the premium I had a go at the weak one, it was shite. :barf

A great stay in Dent and the surrounding roads didn't disappoint, apart from getting within four miles of Tan Hill and finding it blocked due to road repairs, bugger. Not to worry we'll enjoy the Butter Tubs Pass we thought. We found it had just been resurfaced and was full of gravel, double bugger.
Off to Hawes for a bite to eat, nice 👍

In all, it was a really great two days in good company with Wrinkly, OnHellas and Glynn.
:beerjug:

FWIW, the cluster of tents behind me are a group of 18 year old girls doing their Duke of Edinburgh who pitched up yesterday. Quiet at the back, I was here first. :rob
I ask myself why didn't I have such luck in my twenties.🤔

An early bedtime yesterday for today's trip home.

It was hot riding the eighy miles home, but I feel for Paul who will still be slogging 350 miles south to Kent.

I was, I am. I’m in Norfolk…apparently we’re going to the pub at 6 o’clock!!

Thanks for a nice couple of days. I really enjoyed it and I’m definitely up for it again. The temperature got up to 30 degrees according to the Guzzi dash.
Not to bad.

After a brief discussion with a chap in the heritage centre cafe yesterday morning, I've just had a look at the estate agents site who are handling the sale of the Sun Inn. It does indeed say it's 'under offer'.
Lets hope it's sold to someone who's not going to change it and long may it continue.
I would ban dogs though.

only kidding.
