Hi

I am looking for some brackets to put lights onto my GSA and i have found some on flea bay but they are sold by the diameter so my question is does anyone know the diameter of the engine/crash bars on a GSA

thanks in advance

22.5 mm :thumb2

Have a read here :)

PS If I were you, I'd get anything up to and including 25mm. then pad it out with inner tube rubber.....it'll stop any scratching and also act as a bit of a damper as well :thumb2

The diameter would be the circumference divided by Pi or 3.14
Hope that helps:thumb2

I just ordered some SW Motech light brackets for the upper crash bars on my GS. The 22mm size bracket was too small but the 27mm bracket was spot on for the thicker tubing.

Hmmmm.

I've tried those with some small LED spots and they weren't man enough to hold them without swivelling around the bars.

Little money to lose though, and always useful for some other job like fixing on a tool tube or something :thumb2

THESE work though :thumb

You'll probably have to drill the base of the spotlight bracket out to take an M8 bolt, but that's 5 mins work :thumb

I'm planning to fit some LED spots, which (allegedly) come with suitable brackets. But those Fanum suggest look very solid. BTW instead of drilling the lamp brackets you could use 8mm/6mm stepped studs with thread lock and dome nuts. I like dome nuts - they look nice and keep the weather out of the threads.

My plan is for some high power LEDs to back up the main beam with a dimmer to allow them to work with dip beam or as daylights. A relay to bypass the dimmer box can be switched by the main beam. I will probably take the standard fogs off the bike.

Maybe these but I'm still looking. Ive no idea if these are what they claim to be..

Alternative dimmer box its only going to be set once so no need for fancy controls.
