Yup - I'm going to be back on a GS again after a 4 year stint on the R1200R
Yippee.

Deposit paid on a red TE last night at Dick Lovatt.

Bike comes in at end of June. Will probably have it for 1st July.

Looking forward to it.

Now - anyone interested in a r1200r???

Mike.

Yeah,
My 1150gs was silver, mr r1200r is silver, so silver or grey was out.
Don't like the powder blue.
So it was white or red.

I always liked the old Marrakech red R1100gs.

So red it is.

R1200r very underrated bike:clap I was very impressed with the one we tried, only problem was the wife preferred the GS or the K1300r we have at the moment:cool:

Hope you sell it OK

Enjoy the new bike:thumb2

Yeah, I love the r1200r - its a deeply underrated bike that really stunned me when i bought it.
Handles better than the gs, and has the power of the rt. but has the smallest screen you've ever seen on a bike.

Im constantly suprised at its agility, handling and good power. Really nice toy to have on th Cotswold lanes.

Looks great too, nice clean naked bike nothin fancy - business as usual...

If I had the space and funds, I'd have them both.
Only downside - its a naked bike - a lot of wind to cope with, and I couldn't bear to put a carbuncle of an aftermarket screen on it.

Which is really the only reason I am changing. I'm doing longer journeys now, and want a bit more wind protection. Otherwise I'd love to keep it.
Only other fly in the ointment is that if you have the panniers and topbox loaded up, you can't keep the front end on the ground - it becomes a real wheelie monster:augie

I just put a new tyre on it to sell as the old one was shot, serviced it, did the valves, synchronised the throttles, etc etc,. Running really sweetly, really faultless.:ChrisKelly

Took it out to scrub in the new tyre, and am left wondering why I want to change.:rob

But I've paid the deposit, so it's sealed.

You've done the right thing, don't worry!:D:beerjug::JB

Nothing wrong with naked bikes my K1300r and Honda CB1300 only have tiny screens and I find them fine up to about 100. I can cruise happily at 80-90 all day long!

You'll enjoy the GS don't worry

Dave

Oohhh that's nice - thanks.

Yeah, love the r1200r, just a bit tired of the battering of the wind.

Really looking forward to the GS.
