Yeah, I love the r1200r - its a deeply underrated bike that really stunned me when i bought it.
Handles better than the gs, and has the power of the rt. but has the smallest screen you've ever seen on a bike.
Im constantly suprised at its agility, handling and good power. Really nice toy to have on th Cotswold lanes.
Looks great too, nice clean naked bike nothin fancy - business as usual...
If I had the space and funds, I'd have them both.
Only downside - its a naked bike - a lot of wind to cope with, and I couldn't bear to put a carbuncle of an aftermarket screen on it.
Which is really the only reason I am changing. I'm doing longer journeys now, and want a bit more wind protection. Otherwise I'd love to keep it.
Only other fly in the ointment is that if you have the panniers and topbox loaded up, you can't keep the front end on the ground - it becomes a real wheelie monster
I just put a new tyre on it to sell as the old one was shot, serviced it, did the valves, synchronised the throttles, etc etc,. Running really sweetly, really faultless.
Took it out to scrub in the new tyre, and am left wondering why I want to change.
But I've paid the deposit, so it's sealed.
