Didn't take long...

That's already been discussed on another forum, and the consensus is that is the GSA, as no LC's have been delivered yet.:rob How can a recall be issued on a bike that hasn't even gone on sale yet?:nenau

That wasn't really the consensus at all and I was part of the thread. I dont understand it either but the posted link specifically mentions the integral gearbox of the WC. I could easy be (and probably am) wrong here but I have searched and cant find any mention of an oil pump being in the air cooled engines gearbox including the reprom.

Yep, you're right it does apply to the LC:thumb As long as its sorted on bikes before they get delivered, which it obviously will be, its not cause for concern:rob:beerjug:

Im sure that multiple problems and failings of a recently purchased premium (but untried) product wont detract from the owners enjoyment. I mean its not like it has happened before. :D

Whilst I'm not knocking the new bikes (far from it, I'd love one if I had the dosh) I do admire you optimism and naivety, the world would be a far better place if everybody was like that :)

This could quite easily be a shipping problem. The bikes are boxed and if mistakenly stood on the rear so to speak oil could leak from the seal if it sat like this on a ship for a couple of weeks.
This was a problem in this country years back when transporting cars on car transporters that had them at near vertical positions.
Do not know but this is the type of thing that a manufacturer may not test for and not picked up until in the real world.
I`m sure the bike will be fine.

I understand the headlight fell off, the fuel pump paint peeled, the final drive seal leaked, there were multiple spelling mistakes in the drivers manual and there was a letter of welcome from Chancellor Merkel plus a DVD of Auf Wiedershine Pet.

My Big K has more electronics and computing power than Appolo 13 and it has been OK over 12000 miles. The odd gearbox has been changed and switch but it has never let me down. I think it is water cooled as well?

The new GS will have teething problems as production components present some surprises, maybe, maybe not. Plus one of the spotty 18 year old designers will have missed something practical somewhere on the bike......I remember the gear lever adjustment changing to a socket head from a recessed head on the Mk2 Gs1200, no one owned sockets, hopeless. But all minor issue on a charismatic bike.

At the end of the day, if there is a dangerous recall, my local dealer will come and pick the bike up in a van and bring it back to me once the work has been done. If its not dangerous, I'll go down to the BMW garage, talk to the pretty ladies, and eat all their biscuits while the work is done.:D:beerjug: I don't get what all the fuss is about.:blagblah
