I understand the headlight fell off, the fuel pump paint peeled, the final drive seal leaked, there were multiple spelling mistakes in the drivers manual and there was a letter of welcome from Chancellor Merkel plus a DVD of Auf Wiedershine Pet.
My Big K has more electronics and computing power than Appolo 13 and it has been OK over 12000 miles. The odd gearbox has been changed and switch but it has never let me down. I think it is water cooled as well?
The new GS will have teething problems as production components present some surprises, maybe, maybe not. Plus one of the spotty 18 year old designers will have missed something practical somewhere on the bike......I remember the gear lever adjustment changing to a socket head from a recessed head on the Mk2 Gs1200, no one owned sockets, hopeless. But all minor issue on a charismatic bike.
Some people on here are convinced that the new bike will be doomed (or at least they hope so, so they can ride around on their 10 year old 11xx for ever more), but their opinions mean nothing to me.
