Please bw aware that If you use Direct Travel insurance for your travel cover, then from 0900 Monday 29th July 2024
YOU WILL NO LONGER HAVE PERSONAL LIABILITY COVER FOR ANY BIKE OVER 125CC YOU WILL ONLY HAVE ACCIDENT COVER

I am very surprised that they ever offered any third party liability cover, relating to motor vehicles of any sort. Most (if not all) off-the-shelf travel policies exclude it absolutely, as it is covered (compulsory) by the Motor policy.

I guess it is (or was) just a bolt on, to possibly fill a gap when someone rents or uses a hired scooter (or similar) and is otherwise uninsured by a suitable motor policy. That’s just a very wild - and probably very wrong - guess though.

If you mow down a row of nuns[1] at a bus stop, they will claim against your bike insurance, not travel insurance.

[1] a friend managed to do this on his 750cc Kawasaki

Can you advise which travel insurance companies provide this and do they provide a certificate? JJH

We're covered with Directline at the mo and have been told they are withdrawing from the Travel insurance market. Obviously honoring current polices but will not be able to renew.
