Any Pointers, Ma Meta 357 is unresponsive to the fob. even with fresh batteries, and now I think it's immobilising the bike when i try to start it.. :(

Fuel pump Primes.. then goes off and led from alarm is flashing.. Ign off then on again.. try again.. if it starts it sometimes runs for about 5 seconds then led starts to flash.. engine dies... feck...

repeat above and it will start eventually (although it's taking longer for this to stay running!

once started and running it's fine until I switch off the engine again..

I'm thinking it's the alarm.. but since it was on the bike when I bought it and I've never used it.. I cannot be sure.. so I'd like to get it out of the loop as it were..

anyone got any Ideas? Is it a fairly straight forward job?

Or could it be something else..(queue sinister music)....

all advise welcome.. hopefully I can get it resolved before I'm stranded!!

Personally I'd be tempted to get an auto electrician in to remove the alarm altogether! Blooming wires go everywhere and some need soldering back together too! May save you a few quid and a lot of hassle in the end. :thumb2

Alarming

Ditch it before you get stuck out in the middle of nowhere just fit a good immobiliser switch in a hidden spot, (and don't for get about it after a hard night in the bar!)

Agree that the alarm is probably causing your problems. Before spending money getting the bike diagnosed get the faulty alarm removed - it must be faulty as its not responding to the fob.

You need a wiring diagram and fitting instructions to see where/how it has been fitted. They generally break into the fuel pump and ignition / starter circuits, so you need to remake these connections or the bike will never run after removing the alarm. Look for wires that show signs of being cut and soldered to the alarm loom. If there are two close to each other that both go to the alarm, then its a fair bet that the alarm has been fitted to switch that part of the loom off and disable something. Generally the instruction is to resolder these two wires together after removing the alarm but CHECK THE WIRING DIAGRAM FIRST.
