Recently watched the GS911 video by Steve on "A bike thing" and he mentions disabling the front DRLs with the GS911 (making the front indicators work like indicators only and not permanently on). Its seems switching the rears is currently in development. Has anyone done this yet?

why would you disable a safety feature, added by the manufacturer.... Which if disabled could invalidate your insurance..?

it's just a question....

Ive had 2 near misses that I put down to the front indicators being constantly illuminated. Both occurred whilst going around roundabouts. Two cars waiting to join the roundabout, and just seeing only my left indicator illuminated assumed I was indicating left and pulled out on me!

good answer... I'd go back to the dealer tell'em and get them to disable it... then atleast it's covered by them...

I saw that and thought the same thing. I haven't yet had a look on the GS-911 but I did add it to my list of things to try and do.
I really hope that they manage to do the same to the rear lights saving the expensive purchasing Weiser adapters.

I saw that vid and the one done by Bennett’s too.
If they manage to get the rears to operate as the dongle thing does and cancel the running light while indicating it’d be enough for me up splash out on the 911.

A DRL to me is in the headlight & the auxiliary glowing indi's are just that.. I always expect cars to pull out on me whether I have high vis & a million lumens on display,, Which is why I don't have either..

I don’t like following my mates more modern 1250’s than my ‘19 plate due to their rear indicators being permanently lit.

I think it’s a stupid development to put on a motorcycle, once again BMW are solving a problem I didn’t know I had. Nothing wrong with the setup on my slightly older bike IMO.

Agreed, cancelling the DRL function on the front indicators will not turn off the X light in the headlight so you will still have a bright white DRL, unless you have a filter on it.

I have the front indicators still on as drl's and an orange filter over the X light, seems to stand out quite well and no near misses. Before the filter I had one ride where 3 people pulled out in 5 minutes, the one who spoke to me said he thought I was indicating at a glance...
Having the filter on the X light seems to be unusual enough to make people look properly.

When the GS911 can do the rears too then I'm definitely buying one.

Yep, same here.

The lack of a larger central back light/brake light on the new GS13 is a properly daft idea and a contributing factor to me not buying one..

The GS-911 Lets you use the tail light as a tail light rather than just a brake light, and lets you set the percentage brightness. I'll have a look over the weekend to see what can be done with rear indicators as it is now, I know something can be done but can't remember what.

I have just received my 911 and all I could see with indicators at the moment is turning off the self cancellation (bike is a 2019 GSA)

I have beta tester log in. I'm not 100% of what's Beta or not to be honest. What I see is maybe beta still.

Paul, think that the problem with indicators is with post 2021 bikes, and from what I understood Hex is making some tests with beta versions to disable the well known problem, you are already "immune" from it as your indicators should not have the drl function.
