I was issued Rukka Navigator Jacket and trousers several years ago at work. Since day one they have leaked around the chest, crotch and stomach to the point that I may as well not wear a jacket! Literally an hr is all that is needed for total failure.

Previous to this I have always worn Hein Gericke stuff which has always been perfect. When they shut up shop in the UK I got on a plane and went to Berlin and acquired a new jacket. Europe is full of Hein Gericke stores (I think at least 3 in Berlin).

After today's drenching I've thrown the towel in with Rukka and in my opinion I would not spend my money on it. I've just dug out my Hein Gericke Tuareg and intend to be dry for the rest of the year!

I didn't know HG were still going...a quick google takes me to O'Neal
www.hein-gericke.de

the UK franchise went bust years ago so I don't think the trip to Berlin was recent

I still use a HG Cruise 3 bought when I started commuting to Cardiff in 2009, from the Cardiff shop. This jackets is great and has a Goretex drop liner, although needed a new main zip after a decade.. Around this time they stopped using Goretex, dropped the Master & Cruise ranges, and just became another mid-price brand rather than the premium brand some of us remember. The likes of Richa just covered this segment of the market better and did the reverse over time, going up market. The UK franchise went bust in 2012 according to MCN. I guess the German parent went a similar way what with the emergence of Louis & Polo - googling confirms https://britishdealernews.co.uk/news/uk/hein-gericke-goes-bust/ this in Dec 2013.

I managed to grab one just in time by the looks of it! Still going strong!👍

The best bit of kit that has never ever let me down are my Daytona Goretex boots which are worth every penny.

I pretty disappointed with my Schubert C5, I've had it about a year. It's the concrete grey colour which is now scratched down to the black under colour I'm assuming these helmets are black as standard then painted ? The stone chips are everywhere and it looks a mess. My previous BMW System 6 helmet went for 6 years and never scratched like this does, and stone chips didn't show up like this one is, even a slight scratch shows. The paint is wearing off where the top air vent slides back and forth, the paint is wearing on the chin vent as well, I think in another season it might as well be black. The paint job is crap.

bloody rubbish - I bought a pair of used, short Daytona Rainbow jobs on here just after the forum started, perhaps 2003. The useless things started to leak last year when in a monsoon in Spain.

Fortunately, I have a new pair, bought in the end of line sale from FC Moto a couple of years ago. Despite being the same size, they feel very tight compared to the old pair that must be 25 years old.

I’m still using a C3 Pro, but find the ventilation is crap and the visor sometimes leaks.

As many have said, Schuberth seem to have lost the plot and I doubt I’d buy another.

It's weird how things change. I've had a Schuberth C4 Pro for many (5?) years (went into Helmet City to buy a Neotec and found the Schuberth a better fit) and I've probably done around 40K miles in it in all weathers. It's getting a bit tired now but it's a basic white one so the accumulated dings and scratches don't really show. I'm seriously thinking about replacing it with another C4 Pro as I can't really fault it and above all it's really comfortable. I've heard the C5 is a different shell profile so may find that won't fit as well as the C4.

Disgraceful and a clear breach of the Bikermates’ Charter. Name and shame the seller.

We were issued company jackets, they were good quality with the company logo embroidered on the jacket, the only place the jackets leaked were where the logo which had been stitched all the way through the jacket and lining 🤦🏻‍♂️

😁

I’ve had a rukka navigator suit for 7 years now, ridden over 60k miles in all weathers and it has been 100 per cent dry. Also bought a pair of Daytona travel star pro boots last year, whilst my altbergs were being resoled They have been excellent as well. Guess all manufacturers have issues at some point, but I’ve been lucky

I think that J&S bought up the residual HG stock and its not impossible you might find some of it there on tier racks (Oakmere in my case), probably only in XXXS by now though. I have used mid range IXS jacket and trousers in he past reasonably priced and didn't let me down.

I had a used Rukka Armas suit I bought off a guy on eBay for 3 years & only issue was the weird zip it had but that was user error & took getting used to. Replaced it 6 years ago with a new Rukka Nivala. I’ve ridden probably 50k plus miles & have never been wet or cold. Regularly wash it in Nikwax Tech Wash. All zips etc still good. I’ll probably replace it next year with Rukka again as neither Rukka suit has let me down.
With boots I had a pair of Sidi Canyons that started to leak after 4 years. I replaced them with RevIt Discovery H2O boots. They leaked like a sieve from the get go so exchanged them for Sidi Adventure 2’s which are brilliant. Better the devil you know I guess.

I've spent the last few days washing and treating the Rukka kit with Nikwax products and trying to then dry the kit! Fingers crossed the next wet ride is a dry ride. Also reproofed the Hein Gericke jacket which is on standby....

Isn’t there recourse via Gore instead of Rukka?
