Discounts on LC GS

Just pay what your happy to pay folks. There will always be someone that can negotiate a better deal, as there are different circumstances.:rob

I'm very happy with the deal I got on mine, and am sure that others can squeeze a bit more than I did from their dealer, but I want my dealer to be there when I'm looking for my next bike.:thumb:beerjug:

Absolutely - there is more than just buying the bike:beerjug:

and I believe the talking about 10% discounts is just cr*p

That is my thoughts unless proved otherwise

Mmmmm

I was actually offered discount and I am quite ashamed that I went the wrong way about it and the discount was quite rightly withdrawn.

I feel, that without very rare fleeting exception, that discounts will be hard to get.

But, IMHO, the `no pockets in shrouds` is a good saying in the earlier post by a fellow tosser.

Its an interesting thread but surely not one to lose sleep over if discounts are not acheived methinks.

I reckon that round in circles is an uber flush punter who buys plenty of bikes for cash, he can probably sit it out with dealers in his locality, goes in and plants that discount idea and sits tight. Nothing wrong with that.

It took a real effort to get £900 discount on a GSA in 2011. I think discounts are hard to come by on a gs by and large, the bigger dealers with a decent catchment area wont be interested in chopping their margins until march is out of the way imo.

Interesting thread. I put a £500 deposit down on a TE immediately after Intermot, and I have been meaning to get into the dealership to finalise the deal ever since the prices were announced. Haven't quite managed it yet but all things being equal should be there at the end of this week. Will report back.

So, I finally got into the local dealership this afternoon, and as generally expected, the official position is that there is no discounting at all against the WC GS. The usual free first service, discounted accessories etc were offered, but all I was interested in really was the cost to change from my 2011 GSA. I've promised not to discuss actual numbers, but suffice to say I'd have had to sell the GSA privately for well over £10k to do better than the deal I was offered today. I signed the order, and I'm told my bike will be in the dealership at the end of Feb ready for the 2 March launch.

Apparently if you order now you can still get a reasonably early delivery (late April was mentioned); but BMW GB are quoting September delivery for bikes ordered after 1 February.

Cheers
Jimmy
