Disengaging the throttle cable

Hi All

Idiots guide needed - can anyone explain the easiest way to remove the throttle cable from the twist grip?

I'm working my way through removing the twist grip in order to repair a wire on the heated grips, but can't work out how to get enough slack on the cable to allow me to remove the throttle cable from its housing

Can't you twist the throttle open, lock the wire part, then loosen when you let the throttle go slack again?

Idiots guide needed -

Slacken the cable adjuster off...

Twist the throttle fully, grab the cable with a small flat screwdriver or some pliers, pull up/out, then roll the throttle back so you can get the cable 90 degrees. Slide out.
