Disk locks

When you stick your/any disc lock on, attach it as close as possible to the caliper or fork leg so that it has no distance to travel before arresting any movement. Hopefully minimising any damage or chance of you moving off with it about to bring you to a halt a metre later
 
I use a Xena one (now discontinued but similar still available) with an alarm as this will sound if you lift the bike off the side stand or roll off the main stand.

They do one with Sold Secure certification which may attract a security discount with your insurer.

Not as secure as a chain to something solid but when touring, I use it whereas carrying a chain is a PITA

As stated above, replacement batteries are available on ebay for peanuts. I have only replaced the batteries once since buying it in 2011 when I got my S10.
