Yup, it also helps if you unscrew and remove the valve core as then what little air you have can blast in quicker and hopefully get the initial seal.

always done that, but forecourt garage pumps dont have enough reserve tank air to wham up yer tire to seat the edges on the rim

i dont but its easier to find than a tyre bead breaker

what digger06 forgot to tell yer ,is ye need to be at least 17 stone , to get the bloody bead to brake... (hes not the "Pie Eater General" for nothing)

If there is another bike with you, place the wheel flat on the deck put the side stand down on the tyre against the rim and rock the bike down while sitting on it.
