Doc does Albufeira Portugal

Cracking biking road. Twisties galore and a Cracking road surface.

All paid for by the EU....when we were funding it..... :blast. I got that nugget from a Portuguese taxi driver so it might be bollocks.

I reckon that October is the 'sweet spot' for visiting the Algarve, Still good weather and lively enough without being mental........weather dodgy and it's a bit dead pre summer.
Looking good - have fun - :beerjug:

Roads are quiet mostly. Few bikes now and again.

I’ve only been to Portugal once or twice and that was on business to Lisbon. Hopefully the weather will hold for my next visit (along with ChasMill and AN Other) at the end of the month. Portmāo is the destination, for the season ending classic car racing.

Thank you for taking the time to show us around, Chris.
If the restaurant list for the trip has room on it. I can recommend https://www.facebook.com/churrasqueiraguerreiroportimao - not much of a menu, chicken, chips, salad & beer. Went a couple of times on my last trip, after googling somewhere non-touristy.

…
No, your Portuguese taxi driver was spot on. All paid for by UK-funding; and the same for the Irish road system upgrades, too. Prior to the mid-1990’s the Irish road infrastructure was a fucking shambles, too, much beyond the city limits roads turned into dry river beds. Seriously.
In the mid-90’s I drove from Dublin ferry across to Dromoland, the high speed motorway turned to a ruddy donkey track before we reached Naas. It’s a beautiful stretch of road nowadays.

Last day of the hire car today. So up the middle inland today somewhere 🤔
