Come on, after your jaunts away, you can do it and now is an excellent, relaxed, time to try.

Pick up a map and look at it. The roads that are dead straight are….. dead straight. What do you imagine they‘ll be like?

Roads that are less straight? Again, what might you think?

Roads that are red (or obviously motorways) are main roads, sort of like our A roads, what image does that contour up? The letter N, is ‘national’.

Roads that are yellow? These are near enough a bit like our B roads. Again what idea does that present? The letter D, is ’department’, a bit like our counties or local council.

White roads, with D, a bit smaller than yellow with D. Those with the letter C or V, smaller again.

Riding around, look at the signposts and road numbers, even on roads that branch off, to get further images of what road type and their numbers indicate.

Distances. The map will have a scale. Or, if unsure, find two places on the map that you went through yesterday, that’ll give you an idea of how far apart places are spaced and how long it took you to ride between them. Similarly, it might well give you an idea of the roads. Good maps hold all the information you’ll ever need.

The more you try, the easier it will be next time. Nothing too much can go wrong, trust me.

They are cropping up in just about every town. You can get them cold or ready heated.
Had a couple. Shite.
They are about €12.50 a pop unheated.

And what happened to the bus stop(?)

It had one parked there.

Another hot one today but 165 miles having a ride round on some very nice roads.

You often see another vending machine next to them that sells salads and puddings. Chilled of course.

There are lots of very nice roads everywhere, but France wins as there is little traffic :thumb2

Agreed. They sip their drinks a bit too much for my liking. Half lasts them far too long.
Luckily I have some stock in the sink.

Could be trouble if I start on the Rose. Already had to get some people to move their push bikes so I could park mine. They weren't happy .

Last day here today so a look round here today.
First a visit to the local Boulangerie shop for breakfast. 28 euros in the place we are staying for breakfast for a croissant and some bread & cheese.
