Many Germans nowadays especially the younger generation will speak a bit and generally they are helpful unlike the French.....Caught up again. That looks a fabulous spot to stop, our kind of place, except for the fact it is in Germany. I am hoping Anna will be well enough to go away this autumn - Ghent and Brugges are where she wants to visit. I'm not sure she would go as far as Germany, besides which neither of us speak a word of German!

F I F Y.....Ghent & Brugges....well I'd personally skip, especially Brugges which is tourist trap and to me not worth the effort espeically traffic etc.....not to mention smelly drains all over the city centre....
