I've mentioned the dead larch wastelands that stretch for miles and miles which we saw when we went there a couple of years ago. Caused by an increase of just adegree or two in the mean temperature allowing a beetle population to explode which destroys the larch. But I'm sure it'll be all bollox cos I read it here.
